In-12 of (2) ff, 402 pp, (1) f. of printer's mark : half red morocco, spine ribbed with gold and cold decoration, untrimmed, gilt head, cover printed on yellow paper kept (period binding). First edition. One of the few copies printed on Holland laid paper, the only large paper with two chine. Long signed autograph letter (unfortunately the name of the dedicatee has been crossed out): To Mr. [name crossed out]/testament of gratitude for/its empressed care/Th. De Banville/Monsieur [name crossed out] aux humains/Books these small Sketches:/My book, in better hands. Could it be that you were born?/Thanks to him, from the Taunus/to the Tunisian seas/All the lovers of Venus/ will know my Parisian women./TB Very nice copy in contemporary binding and complete with cover.
