A FINE MITOKOROMONO SET WITH KOGAI AND MENUKI A FINE MITOKOROMONO SET WITH KOGAI AND MENUKI Japan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) The handle of the shakudo kogai with mix-metal takazogan depicting a coiling dragon on a fine nanako (ring punched) ground. The pair of mix-metal menuki depicting similarly styled dragons, coiling in on itself, with finely detailed scales, claws, horns, and whiskers. Kogai LENGTH 21.2 cm, 2.3 cm WEIGHT 40.7 g Condition: Excellent condition.

A RARE GROUP OF TWO KOGAI A RARE GROUP OF TWO KOGAI Unsigned Japan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) Comprising of one shakudo wari kogai with a nanako ground frame depicting a torikabuto in gold and shakudo takazogan, as well as a shibuichi kogai engraved with a makimono (handscroll). HEIGHT 20.1 cm and 23.3 cm WEIGHT 31.1 g and 38 g Condition: Very good condition with wear, small nicks to edges, and minor encrustations to the shibuichi kogai. With a fitted wood storage box.
