Frédéric Menguy is a French painter, trained in drawing in Paris. After teaching, he turned to expressionism, before trying his hand at abstract landscapes, and finally adopting colored figuration.
The Red Hill is part of his abstract period. The orange and pink tones are typically characteristic of his work. "I paint what I would like to see and not what I see" he says.
