The Normandy
Launched on October 28, 1882, the Normandie was the first ship of the transatlantic company to pass the capacity of 1000 passengers. On May 5, 1883, she made her first voyage from Le Havre to New York in 8 days and 11 hours. In 1886, the ship was renamed La Normandie. It remained in service until 1912, when it was sold for demolition.
