The globe has 2 cartouches: - A Paris chez DELAMARCHE geographer. Rue du foin St Jacques. In the college of Master GERVAIS. 1801 - Globe drawn up according to the discoveries of captain COOK and increased by those of captain LAPEROUSE. C.F DELAMARCHE geographer successor of VAUGONDY. 1801 The celestial globe bears a cartouche : - Positions of the fixed stars for the year 1780 by Sr FORTIN, geographer engineer in Paris. The armillary sphere of Ptolemaic type is signed on the globe: " A Paris chez le Sr FORTIN, rue de la harpe. 1773 " The planetary of Copernican type, not signed, is obviously attributable to DELAMARCHE.
