Paul Landowski (1875-1961) Dancer with snakes Bronze with brown patina shaded with green Signed "P Landowski" and bears the artist's monogram "PL Bears the founder's stamp "La STELE" and the number "8 H. 41,5 cm The Dancer with Snakes is part of the orientalist production of the beginning of the sculptor's career. In 1914, Paul Landowski presented the model of this bronze at the Salon des Artistes Français and at the Société des peintres orientalistes. The first bronze cast by Gatti was acquired by the State that same year, and other copies were made by other founders, including Valsuani.
