Léon-Ernest Drivier (1878-1951) Head of a young girl, before 1913 Bronze proof Sand casting signed " A. Bingen et F. Costenoble Fondeurs Paris ", executed between 1903 and 1913 Signed (on the base of the neck on the right) : " DRIVIER ". 28 x 17 x 18 cm A student of Barrias at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Léon-Ernest Drivier worked as a practitioner in Auguste Rodin's studio from 1907. A friend of Charles Despiau, Alfred Jean Halou, Jane Poupelet and Robert Wlérick, he was part of the "Bande à Schnegg". In 1937, he participated in the decoration of the Palais de Chaillot by creating La joie de vivre. In addition to the public commissions he received for commemorative monuments, he produced numerous busts. This bust shows the period when he worked in Rodin's studio. His works are held in public collections, including the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Musée Despiau-Wlérick in Mont-de-Marsan, the Musée des Années Trente in Boulogne-Billancourt, and the Musée de Grenoble, his native city.
