Autograph letter signed, Paris, January 14, 1919. 3 pp. in-8. He exults "I confess that I was curious about a little book, in which I knew a few people (Fortunately, not all!). (...) It is thus that the small book, not satisfied to reach me, reached me under a so gracious dedication. That is not all: If my curiosity was satisfied, my taste for the elegance of the language, for its well conducted purity and its just ornaments, was satisfied to a rare degree (...)".
