A rare and beautiful double-barreled percussion pistol

dating: about 1870 provenance: Belgium, Round barrels, one smoothbore and the other rifled (clean bores, visible rifling), rib with foresight with several marks underneath including 'AF' (Auguste Francotte) under crown and the caliber '17 mm'; engraved and gilded tang. Backwards spring lock, finely engraved with floral motifs and bands on a gilded background; receiver and mounts en suite. Trigger guard with finger support. Lower opening lever. Belt hook on the right side. length 38.5 cm.
