A fine pair of flintlock pistols by Barthelemy Bourlier

dating: late 18th Century provenance: St. Etienne, Round, smoothbore, browned, 15 mm cal barrels barrels, with square base and rib signed 'Barthelemy Bourlier' in gold, gold decorations at the base, front sight; engraved tangs; locks signed en suite and engraved with flags and floral motifs. Mechanism needs revision. Wooden full stocks, slightly carved with floral motifs, with beautiful, partially-embossed, engraved or pierced silver mounts. The counter-plates with a monster's head, the butt-plates with a mask. Trigger guards with 'LM' marks. Iron-tipped, horn ramrods, one also with cartridge extractor. Small missing parts and defects.
