A miquelet flintlock pistol

dating: 18th Century provenance: Naples or Spain, Smoothbore, two-stage, octagonal and round, 15.2 mm cal barrel with rings at the girdle. Lock with flat plate engraved with volutes and racemes, with double external spring. Hammer and batterie engraved en suite. Working mechanism. Wooden full stock with small missing parts at the nozzle and with a vain near the guard. Brass mounts. Back escutcheon with the initials 'A G'. Brass counter-plate with iron belt hook. Simple wooden stick with remains of tip. The butt-plate with a beautiful mask in relief. The front tang of the trigger guard with a small repair. The iron nail between the trigger guard and the lock probably held the cloth of the palm rest (small remains of fabric around it). length 34 cm.
