An extremely rare duck's foot flintlock pistol signed Segallas
dating: 1770/80 provenance: Belgium, Completely worked with iron. Group of four round, smoothbore, turn-off barrels, with moulded nozzle, in a horizontal sequence and lined to cover up a wide sight angle, numbered from 0 to 3. Joint in an only-one wide breech, marked with the same numbers, the upper part decorated with a beaded edge, the lower part with a bouquet of flowers. Box-lock tyme frame signed 'SEGALLAS' on the left side, engraved with trophies, the butt with iron grips decorated with floral motifs. Trigger guard decorated with a flower. The signature 'Segallas' is probably one of the several contemporary imitations made in Belgium; yet it is a very rare example, made with care and very good quality. length 20 cm.
