A fine pistol converted to percussion by Kuchenreuter and Stitz
dating: late 18th Century provenance: Germany, Round, rifled, 12 mm cal barrel with square base, rib signed 'JACOB KUCHENREUTER' in silver among garlands, a mark at the base and dovetailed front sight; tang marked '2' and with triple sight. Forward spring lock converted to percussion, signed 'SPITZ IN PRESBU and finely engraved with floral motifs. Slightly sculpted, wooden full stock with smooth, partially browned iron mounts together. Escutcheon with gold' FS 'monogram at the back. Set trigger. Horn-tipped ramrod. length 42.5 cm.
