An interesting S&W Model 3 Russian First Model revolver (Old Old model Russian)

dating: 1871 - 1874 provenance: Russian Empire, 8', 44 S&W Russian cal. barrel with high rib featuring the S&W marking in English (commercial models) with patents up to 1869 and the writing' RUSSIAN MODEL ' (visible rifling, the inside needs cleaning). Six-shot cylinder. Working mechanism, yet the cylinder does not rotate and is not blocked. America-type frame (II model). With a pair of non-standard, elongated grips. Serial number '19xxx' under the handle. Cylinder, barrel and hook with the same assembly numbers 'Z3xx'. Well-preserved antique nickel- plating, with very small missing parts. Commercial Russian models were often produced with assembly numbers on the cylinder, barrel and hook, therefore they were different from the serial number under the handle.
