A Colt Lightning Slide Action Carbine, Medium Frame
dating: 1884 provenance: USA, Round, rifled, 20' barrel, provided with front sight and with a foldable and adjustable rear sight, with the company marking and patents up to 1887 in two lines, marked with the caliber '38 Cal' at the base on the left side. Bore needs cleaning, visible rifling. An opening between the barrel and the tubular magazine, maybe to keep the screw of the barrel bracket band (now missing). Frame engraved with a rampant horse, lower tang with serial number '60xxx'. Remains of browning. Smooth butt, checkered fore-end, both in walnut wood. Working mechanism. length 93,8 cm.
