TOURNAI BUST OF FRANÇOIS I OF LORRAINE, Circa 1756 Rare soft paste porcelain bust of François I (1708-1765), hereditary prince of Lorraine and Grand Duke of Tuscany, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (1745-1765), husband of Empress Marie-Thérèse. Dressed in military armourwith a breastplate and shoulder pads decorated with scales, wearing the badge of the Golden Fleece and a neckerchief tied around the neck. A large cape held by a staple on the right shoulder falls amply forming many folds down to the pedestal. He is wearing a wig with long curly locks.
