Rolex 3330 chronograph retailed by Cravanzola, ‘40s Stainless steel coin-edge round case, n.41581, rectangular pushers. Argenté dial, multi-scale, applied indexes and arabic numerals. Hand-winding movement. Leather strap and Rolex stainless steel buckle. Size: 37 mm. Notes: Reference 3330 is probably one of the rarest pre-Oyster chronographs ever made by Rolex. Produced in the 1940s, it features a large 37mm case which was unique for Rolex during this period; its twelve-hour register was an uncommon detail at that time as well. The present watch is in virtually unworn conditions, and has been consigned by a Madam daughter of the original owner, who purchased the watch in the early 40s and unfortunately died in battle few years later during the Second World War. A similar specimen, with salmon dial but without any retailer personalization, featuring the case serial number only 9 digits apart from this specific watch, has been sold in 2016 at Phillips "Start-Stop-Reset" auction for Chf 390,000.
