GJON MILI (1904–1984)
GJON MILI (1904–1984) | Arthur Rubinstein, New York 1948 | Gelatin silver print, printed in the 1980s on double-weight semi-matte paper, in perfect condition 24,2 x 18,3 cm “Life” credit and copyright stamps with handwritten photographer’s name on reverse Mili came to the United States in 1923, where he trained as an electrical engineer and assisted Harold Edgerton. From 1939, he also embarked on a career in photography himself, working frequently for “Life magazine”. Mili kam 1923 in die Vereinigten Staaten, wo er eine Ausbildung zum Elektroingenieur absolvierte und Harold Edgerton assistierte. Ab 1939 schlug er auch selbst die Fotografen-Laufbahn ein und arbeitete vor allem für das “Life magazine”.
