Hermann Schieberth ran his renowned portrait studio at Opernring 11 (then Kaiser Karl-Ring) in Vienna. Trude Fleischmann, who completed her practical training with Schieberth, also portrayed Kraus several times in the following years. Das Porträt des sprachgewaltigen Kritikers und Schriftstellers Karl Kraus entstand kurz nach Erscheinen seines Hauptwerkes “Die letzten Tage der Menschheit”. Hermann Schieberth betrieb sein renommiertes Porträtstudio am Wiener Opernring 11 (damals Kaiser Karl-Ring). Trude Fleischmann, die bei Schieberth ihre praktische Ausbildung absolvierte, porträtierte Kraus wenig später ebenfalls.
