This pair of vases with a celestial blue background represents the royal portraits of Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI. It presents a rich gilded bronze mounting, doubled by the painted and gilded decoration. Geometrical and vegetal friezes set the neck and the foot while the acanthus leaves handles underline the roundness of the body where are painted in reserve genre scenes on one side and bouquets of flowers on the other. On the vase whose neck shows the king's portrait is a courtly scene where a man and two women are hunting birds. Associated with the portrait of the queen is a fishing scene.
