TABLETOP OF THE DUKE OF OSUNA ITALY, XXth century Marble and polychrome hard stone inlays, including lapis lazuli, white marble, polychrome marbles 120 x 120 cm Our tabletop presents a rich decoration with a coat of arms in the center, composed of the arms of the Duke of Osuna, joined to those of Castile and Leon, as well as surrounded by those of Portugal. It reproduces with virtuosity the assemblies of the table of the Duke of Osuna of the seventeenth century, only the representation of the necklace of the Golden Fleece allows to differentiate our tray from its original. Around the octagon, symbols of war in marble of different colors. The original made for the Galleria dei Lavori in Florence is kept in the Prado Museum in Madrid (fig.1). It is a magnificent testimony of exceptional 17th century craftsmanship.
