It was composed in part by Caron himself and published in 1802. Illustrated with a frontispiece and engravings in the text, it is divided into 100 "beignets" (tales, licentious stories and saucy poems), followed by "brimborions" ("crumbs, broustilles, croquettes (...) to signify the small pieces of fried dough that come off the beignets"), horoscopes and wacky advertisements.
