Two medallions in black patinated terra cotta, one representing Marsyas and Olympus. 19th century. Diameter : 38 cm Father of Olympe, the satyr Marsyas initiates his son to the art of the flute, an instrument he invented himself. Before the torture of Marsyas, victim of a rivalry with the god Apollo during a joust between the flute and the lyre, it shows the transmission of a musical art called to know a great fortune.
