Brooch of oval form with a gold banded mounting chased with scrolls. In the center, under glass, a watercolor painting represents two noble ladies, richly adorned, dressed in sari, represented sitting in the Zenana, part of the Indian palace reserved for women. On the reverse, a lock of braided hair.

This fine painting is from the Company Schools, the watercolors painted during the 19th century in India to meet the demand of Europeans posted in the trading posts.
