ITALY SICILY Important Medici-shaped silver bowl, the base and the neck with stylized leaves, the inner edge and the pedestal with doucine with guilloche decoration of eagles with spread wings. The body is surrounded by a guilloche frieze of laurel leaves. Leafy handles. It stands on a circular base with blackened wood moldings. Carries a brass cartel engraved " IL PRESIDENTE DELL'ASSEMBLA REGIONALE SICILIANA". 20th century Marked: swan (object of chance) H. without the base : 21 cm - H. with the base : 29 cm - Diam. with the handles : 44 cm Weight : 1548 g ML Rubbed, frosted The origins of the regional assembly go back to the Sicilian parliament, instituted in 1097 by Count Roger I of Sicily and dissolved in 1849. The first autonomy of Sicily was granted by King Humbert II on May 15, 1946, and the first assembly was elected on April 20, 1947. The headquarters of the ARS is located in Palazzo dei Normanni (XI century) in Palermo
