Cylinder Seal Collection. 2nd-1st millennium B.C. and later. A mixed group of stone cylinder seals drilled for suspension, comprising: a large, spool-shaped haematite example bearing an incuse frieze of human figures in dynamic poses, one seated figure receiving an offering, crescent above; a slender shell seal bearing incuse procession of figures advancing right, including a winged and bird-headed figure holding ceremonial accoutrements; a seal of toffee-coloured limestone engraved with standing human figures, including three apparently rowing a boat; a haematite seal bearing a winged scarab flanked by an archer drawing his bow and a winged rearing animal, a cross in the field above; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 78 grams total, 19-32 mm (3/4 - 1 1/4 in.)
