FIJI ISLANDS WAR CLUB
Rare Ula tava tava war club from the Fiji Islands. The peculiarity of this object is that unlike the other well-known Ula clubs within the various collections, this one belonged to a brave warrior since we find three human teeth set in the upper part in memory of valid enemies fallen due to that weapon. A very similar specimen was brought back from an expedition by Prof. Giuseppe Tucci and is now kept inside the Pigorini Museum (see attached photo). Early 19th century. Size 40 cm.
