Pre-1953. 195 4 leaves, 10 double leaves; 1 leaf, 11 double leaves, 1 leaf; 1 leaf, 17 double leaves; all variously numbered in the author's own hand (pp. 39-63 and 64-97; pp. 65-88). Ink on a total of 83 loose sheets of paper. Each 30 x 20 cm. B. Zajcev (1881-1972) is considered an important young representative of the "Silver Age" in Russian literature; he was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962. - The following chapters are available: Berlin (Berlin); Proshino (Proshino); Letopis' zemlyanogo vala (Chronicle of the Zemlyanoy Val). - The manuscript comes from the editorial archive of the New York journal of Russian emigrants "Novyj zhurnal" (New Review). Here presented in the multiple inscribed envelope of the editorial office.
