Wanderbuch- - H iking bookfor the locksmith Georg Enger from Hohenschäftlarn in Upper Bavaria. Issued in Wolfratshausen, September 10, 1847. XII printed pages, 64 pp. for entries, 59 of which are described and stamped. 15.5 x 10 cm. Half leather binding of the time (heavily rubbed).
Enger - blond, skinny - was 18 years old on the date of issue. In 1847-51 he wandered mainly in Upper Bavaria and Central Franconia, for 1857-61 he is certified to have worked as an iron turner for Hauschmied Schneider in Gauting. Enger signed the booklet in two places, and his pre-printed "Denkzettel" for confirmation in 1839 is also enclosed. - Finger marks, occasional ink stains.
