Hamburg - - Minute book (of the oldest Hamburg carnival club) Klimperkasten from 1872 (cover title). Handwriting of several secretaries on paper. With some pasted drawings, printed proposal slips and newspaper clippings. Hamburg, May 23, 1892-March 22, 1897. 270 prenumbered p., 14 leaf thumb index. 34.5 x 22 cm. Original cloth binding with black-stamped fillets and gold-stamped cover cartouche, bookbinder's label by Johs. Kraus on the manorial trench (stained and rubbed). Contains over 50 minutes of the "Närrischen Sitzungen" (foolish meetings), usually held monthly, including new members, elections and cash accounts, a festive report on the 24th anniversary, and a report on participation in the great pageant for the 100th birthday of Kaiser Wilhelm I on March 22, 1897. The minutes are mostly signed off by the chairman (until January 1895 Carl Lücke, then Paul Jürss), and also by the respective secretaries, including B. Wallenstein, H. Wegener, H. Boothby, E. Rudolph, C. B. Schmidt. The club's venue is first "bei Decker", then for years "Hornhardts Concert-Garten", an "Introduktionsabend" takes place on 17.01.1897 in the "Schiffergesellschaftshause". - Inside very well preserved. #
