PH Septima Suspension Seven shades in acid-etched molded glass and nickel-plated brass structure. Hanglamp Zeven gegoten en met zuur geëtste glazen en vernikkeld messing. 1929. Ed. Louis Poulsen. H.42 cm L.50 cm Bibliographie/Bibliografie: T. Jørstian, P. E. Munk Nielsen, "Light Years Ahead: The Story of the PH Lamp", Edition Louis Poulsen, Copenhagen, 1994. p.237-239. Poul Henningsen worked on the creation of this majestic Septima suspension between 1927 and 1931. Like his previous creations, he hides the bulb between several layers of thin glass that simultaneously diffuse and reflect the light to create a harmonious and warm atmosphere. The different levels of the shade are arranged with alternating transparent and frosted sections, so that the frosted sections cover the transparent sections below, dispersing the light more diffusely while maintaining glare-free lighting directed downwards. The commercial potential of the Septima was never fully exploited and therefore very few were produced. Indeed, on the eve of the Second World War, Louis Poulsen ceased production due to material shortages.
