Antonio Frilli (1860-1902) Naked woman sitting on a rock Sculpture in alabaster and bas-relief in bronze representing ancient dancers Signed and located "A FRILLI FIRENZE H. 56 cm Related literature: A Panzetta, Nuovo dizionario degli scultori italiani, Turin, 2003 The technical mastery of this Florentine artist of the late 19th century allowed him to chisel marble and alabaster to the highest degree of virtuosity. Frilli is renowned for his portraits of women and large nudes. From 1860 onwards, he founded a particularly renowned workshop and produced a large number of works in marble and alabaster, as well as numerous copies of antiques for an enlightened European clientele.
