India ink, watercolor and wash for this sublime original illustration taken from the universe of Moby Dick. Composition on textured drawing paper. Chabouté offers us here a work of a remarkable quality. From bottom to top, the darkness takes us towards the foam and the eddies of the raging waves. The seagulls seem to hope for the sinking of these two frail boats, almost swallowed by voracious waves. The author has managed to create movement in the application of the color black and makes this deep ocean swirl to bring us back to the surface. There, thanks to the perfectly mastered perspectives, the clouds of birds twirl and even seem to want to leave the painting... Signed. 150x60cm
