Icon of Saint Serafim of Sarov Late 19th century, tempera on simple wood panel, partly gold-bronzed, inscribed in Church Slavonic, half-length portrait of the saint in a habit before a light background, the right hand raised dignified to the heart, Serafim was one of the most famous Russian monks and mystics of the Orthodox Church and was canonized in 1903, partially retouched, slight signs of age, dimensions 22 x 18 cm.
