(Minimally rubbed and bumped). Monod 11340 - Garvey 281st - One of 50 numbered copies (GA 250) on Vélin Arches, title page of extra suite numbered and signed by the artist. - Etchings printed by Jacques Frélaut. - "After Vollard had seen the illustrations for "La treille muscate", he wished Segonzac to do another series for Colette, but the artist persuaded him to plan a Virgil (...) The artist brought the book out himself. His landscape has a classical, pastoral quality whose freshness is due to the immediacy of execution" (Garvey 281). - Volumes I and II foxed in the margins (Volume I partly a little stronger and in places within the illustrations), otherwise nice copy. - One of 50 numbered copies, title of extra suite signed and numbered by the artist. 3 volumes. With 119 etchings as well as extra suite with 119 etchings. Loose sheets in original wrappers, half cloth cover and slipcase (slightly rubbed and bumped). First two volumes with foxing, otherwise good copy.
