De saillies frapantes et d'heureuses reparties - Rennes, 1756 - 1 volume In-8° - Approximately 480 numbered pages (pages 441 to 502 missing) - The work begins with the handwritten title then 1 " Epitre au révérend Père Remy de Hennebond capucin en lui envoyant ce recueil 1757 [...] " of 2 pages (detached leaf) that the author signs Pierre de Vannes Cap : Indi : on the back - The work is composed of 2 books of "Synathrisie" and 1 book of "Gelodacrie" (1 detached sheet) then ends with 1 "collection of several remedies experimented with the properties of several known and common simples against any kind of fever [...]" of 15 pages (1 detached sheet) and 1 supplement composed of several paragraphs: "Epigram on a very proud and gouty judge, Epistola ad Patrem Petrum de vanes, Responsio, ..." - The author ends his work with a notice to the reader : " Reader, if you approve everything I have pity of your madness, and if nothing is of your taste I will accuse you of envy ". - Binding of the period in worn tan calf (spidering and lacks to the boards) - Spine with ornate nerves (cracked leather, damaged headbands) - Brown morocco title-piece - Red edges - later mention on the title : " Fait par le père Pierre (1730) [sic] donné à Mr le Dr de Closmadeuc ". - Curious collection mixing religious and secular reflections of a Capuchin monk from Vannes in the 18th century.
