Zt. on wooden boards with 1 (of 2 ) brass clasps; stained, somewhat rubbed, back cover with few wormholes, spine with 2 paper labels. VD 16, C 3983; IA 140.647. - Third edition, was first published in 1568. Quite rare. Clajus (also Claius, Clay, Klay; 1535-1592) was an educator, theologian, and grammarian. - Somewhat browned, isolated small ink stains, at the beginning numerous annotations and marginalia in ink; title fingerstained, with small lesion of the lower outer corner and with handwritten ownership notes. Ownership notes, and there and on the last leaf with small pen drawings; from p. 113 with one, towards the end with some wormholes, from p. 333 also in the type area.(17)
