LOT OF BLACK GLAZED VASES DATE: IV-III sec. a.. C. MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish clay, black paint, white and yellow sub-paintings, modelled by fast lathe. A skyphos with rounded rim, truncated cone-shaped bowl, ring foot and ribbon handles set under the rim; a skyphos in the style of Gnathia with hemispherical bowl, echinus foot and twisted upward stick handles; a saucer with brim decorated in the center with opposing palmettes; three jugs different from each other with flared rim, ovoid or globular body, flat bottom, ribbon overlapping handle set from the rim to the shoulder (6) PRODUCTION: Apulian black glazed pottery STATE OF CONSERVATION: five intact, a small gap, encrusted, slight chipping DIMENSIONS: h. from cm 10 to cm 3; diam. mouth from cm 13 to cm 4,5 ORIGIN: private collection, Lecce, Italy.
