TWO DAUNIAN VASES DATING: V-IV sec. a. C. MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish clay, chamois engobe, brown and paonazza paint, modeled by fast lathe. Olla with everted rim and rounded lip, neck with concave profile, globular body, disc foot; baton-shaped handles, set obliquely on the shoulder, decorated in brown paint with bands and fillets; olpe with flared rim, ovoid body, disc foot, ribbon handle set from the rim to the shoulder, decorated with bands and fillets in brown. PRODUCTION: Daunia pottery with bands. STATE OF CONSERVATION: whole, encrusted, slight chipping DIMENSIONS: h. cm 19 and cm 18; mouth diameter cm 10 and cm 17 ORIGIN: Private collection, Lecce, Italy.
