Which suppressing the taille, the Aides, the Doüanes from one Province to another, the Decimes of the Clergy, the Extraordinary Affairs, & all other onerous & non-voluntary Taxes: And decreasing the price of Salt by half & more, produce to the King a certain and sufficient income, without expenses; & without being a burden to one of his Subjects more than to the other, which would increase considerably by the better cultivation of the Lands ".Without place, 1708, in-12 bound full basane of time. ( 5 ff) 272 pages (1 ff blc). Portrait of Vauban in frontispiece. Complete with the 4 tables. Edition published the following year of the original edition. A work drawing a bold picture of the misery of the lower classes was very badly received by Louis XIV who ordered its suppression. Modest binding with small lack of leather on the spine, brown stain running through the work. Ex libris in old pen on the title page, ink stain. Light rings running through the book.
