Set of 3 strong volumes in-4 bound in half chagrin with corners, spine richly decorated with a repeated iron with a lion in the boxes. Upper edges gilt. Numerous illustrations, maps, plans in black. The second plate of the third volume faded as well as the 3 sheets of white endpapers attached to it without affecting the text. Copy well bound, body of the work very clean except for the defect mentioned. A fourth volume will be published in 1939.
