MALE HEAD Cyprus, end of the 6th century B.C. Limestone with patina. Restoration to the nose. On the back old inventory label from the 70s (?) "17043". H. 28 cm Provenance Ex-Sotheby's sale from the late 1990s French private collection The head shows juvenile masculine features. The skull appears shaved and topped with a conical cap on the edge of a pointed lapel. The eyes are almond-shaped and stretched out, the mouth sculpted in a very stylized way however gives off a subtle smile. The nose is long and straight. The ears are open. A Cypriot limestone male head with rounded helmet. The head shows juvenile masculine features. The head appears shaved a with a conical cap on the edge of a peaked lapel.
