NECKLACE Greece, Hellenistic art, circa 300 BC Gold pendants in the shape of an amphora, garnet beads (later) L. 38 cm; H. (amphora) 2.2 cm Provenance Former M. Woronow Collection, 1960s European private collection, acquired on 5 September 1964 Group of 22 solid gold pendants in the form of an amphora surmounted by a floral motif, mounted as a necklace and alternating consecutively with two garnet beads. Accompanied by an expertise of Dr Jack Ogden dated April 2021 A group of 22 Greek gold amphora pendants from a necklace, ca. 300 B.C. restrung with later garnets. Accompanied with an expertise of Dr. Jack Ogden, April 2021.
