INTAIL Hellenistic art, 3rd-1st century BC On carnelian, the engraved surface very convex and the reverse very concave. It depicts a draped priestess (?) in profile to the left, holding an ear of wheat (?) in her right hand. L. 23 mm Provenance Former private collection, acquired in the 1990s An hellenistic carnelian intaglio with convex engraved surface, figuring a draped priestress (?) standing in three-quarters toward left and holding an ear of corn (?) in her right hand. Ca. 3rd - 1st century B.C.
