Description

William Hogarth (1697-1764), circa resp. after. Satirical, allusive scene in an interior with three smoking men and three women, two of whom are obviously crying. Oil on wood, unsigned, verso some symbols and sketches in pen and the Polish phrase ''Swiety Boze'', which means ''Oh you holy bimbam''. Inscribed on old label, 40 x 49 cm, framed 56 x 65 cm
