Plate, Sevres, France, 1842, polychrome floral painting in the mirror, inscribed on the back: ''Potentille frutescente'' (Curly-leaved cinquefoil), surrounded by ornamental gilding, flag with 3 interlocking rows of petals in relief, painted in gray-blue, Ø 22 cm From 1842, several services with this decor and shape were produced in the Sèvres Manufactory. In October 1843, Queen Marie-Amélie received eleven embossed plates with godrons and shortly thereafter five more. A set of 66 plates will be delivered as a gift to King Louis Philippe in November 1843. It is given to François, Prince de Joinville, one of the sons of Louis-Philippe, on the occasion of his wedding with Françoise de Bragance, daughter of Pedro I, Emperor of Brazil, in 1843.
