A LARGE FOLIATE RIM FAMILLE ROSE PALETTE ‘EIGHT TREASURES OF BUDDHISM’ PORCELAIN OFFERING CUP China, Qing Dynasty, Daoguang mark and possibly of the period Both the bowl and its spread foot of foliate shape, the outer part of the bowl finely adorned in vivid enamels with “The Eight Treasures of Buddhism”, the inner part with a floral spray. The below inscribed in iron red with a six-character seal / zhuanshu mark of the Emperor Daoguang within a double square. H: 8,6 cm - L 21,5 cm – w: 16 cm Note: The Eight Treasures (babao 八宝), also known as the Eight Precious Things and the Eight Auspicious Treasures, may consist of eight ordinary symbols, the eight precious organs of the Buddha's body, the eight auspicious signs, or the various emblems of the eight Taoist Immortals.
