A PYU AGATE ‘TIGER’ TALISMAN Burma/ Myanmar, Pyu city states (200-1000 CE). Translucent agate stone of an intense reddish-orange hue with natural, white, and milky white inclusions. Hand carved in the form of a crouching tiger. Central drilling showing ancient toolmarks and allowing for suspension as a pendant. Condition: Good condition with minor traces of age and some flaws to the surface. One natural, vertical age crack. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
