A KHMER SANDSTONE RELIEF OF UMA Khmer Empire, Angkor period, 12th-13th century. The voluptuously carved female deity depicted with large breasts, slender body, and a long sampot. Her face with a benign expression flanked by pendulum earrings, the hair arranged into a conical headdress secured with a tiara. Condition: Very good condition commensurate with age, extensive weathering, wear, and some losses. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
