China, 19th century, by Xu Xiang (1850-1893). Ink and watercolours on paper. Nicely painted with a tiger on a rock. With inscription ‘Xiaocang Xu Xiang’ and seal ‘Lianmen Busuo’ to the upper right. Framed behind glass.
Xu Xiang, also known as Xiaocang, lived in Shanghai and specialized in painting figures and landscapes, as well as flowers and birds.
Condition: With wear, soiling, creases, and losses hardly visible due to the mounted framing.
Provenance: Hungarian private collection, according to the current owner acquired in 1990.
